This is the sound at Topsail Island in NC: the wind, the water, small pockets of air that pop beneath the boats. I always find it curious that the sound is so quiet. In this moment, only the distant ring of the flag's metal hoist is heard in across the gentle water. "This American Sound," is one of my favorite sounds to hear.
